FOR DISTRICT AND SCHOOL LEADERS

Your District Invested in High-Quality Curricula.

Is That Investment Reaching Every Classroom?

READY2PLAN helps educators turn high-quality instructional materials into intentional, responsive instruction through a practical, repeatable approach to unit and lesson internalization.

You Chose Strong Materials. Now Help Teachers Make the Most of Them.

Curriculum adoption is an important step, but the real work begins when teachers open those materials and prepare to bring them to life for students.

READY2PLAN may be a fit for your school or district if:

  • Curriculum implementation varies across classrooms.

  • Teachers need greater clarity about the purpose and progression of upcoming learning.

  • Unit preparation, lesson preparation, classroom observations, and student work feel disconnected.

  • Leaders want a shared language for discussing instructional preparation.

  • Initial curriculum training has not yet developed into a sustainable internalization process.

A High-Quality Curriculum Is Only the Beginning.

Even the strongest curriculum cannot implement itself. Its impact depends on how deeply educators understand it and how intentionally they prepare to teach it.

Purchasing HQIM is not the same as implementing it well.

Internalization is the process teachers use to deeply understand their curriculum before they teach it. Teachers study the unit and lessons so they understand where the learning is headed, how understanding develops, what students will need, what evidence will demonstrate learning, and how they can respond during instruction.

Internalization is how teachers turn written curriculum into intentional classroom instruction.

Two Levels.

One Coherent Approach.

READY2PLAN connects unit-level understanding with lesson-level preparation so teachers can see the larger learning journey before preparing for the instructional decisions within each lesson.

Unit Internalization

Teachers examine the complete learning journey. They clarify the destination, study assessment expectations, trace how learning develops, identify pivotal experiences, and consider pacing and major supports.

Lesson Internalization

Teachers prepare for the immediate instructional experience. They examine the lesson purpose, prerequisite learning, likely student thinking, evidence of understanding, and responsive instructional moves.

Teachers understand the whole before preparing to teach each part.

One District. Many Curricula. One Shared Instructional Language.

A district may use one curriculum for English language arts, another for mathematics, and another for science. No single publisher necessarily provides a districtwide language for instructional preparation.

READY2PLAN gives teachers, coaches, and administrators a shared process they can use across grade levels, subjects, schools, and curriculum programs.

Curriculum representatives know their materials. READY2PLAN helps districts own and sustain their implementation process.

READY2PLAN Complements What You Already Have.

READY2PLAN does not replace curriculum-specific training. It does not require schools to purchase a new curriculum. It complements existing planning expectations by organizing the instructional thinking that effective preparation requires. The process works across grade levels and subject areas because teachers apply it directly to the materials their district has already selected.

Practical by Design

READY2PLAN professional learning is built around application. Teachers work directly inside upcoming curriculum materials, examine real units, prepare real lessons, and practice the thinking they will use after the session ends.

The strongest implementation requires protected preparation time, access to upcoming curriculum materials, and continued reinforcement from instructional leaders.

Begin With a READY2PLAN Professional Learning Session

An initial READY2PLAN session helps educators develop a shared understanding of internalization and begin applying a practical preparation process to their own curriculum.

During the session, educators will:

  • Explore the relationship between unit and lesson internalization.

  • Apply the READY2PLAN approach to their own HQIM.

  • Strengthen the connection between curriculum, instruction, and evidence of learning.

  • Practice anticipating student thinking and instructional decisions.

  • Establish common language teachers and leaders can continue using.

Instructional leaders also learn what strong internalization sounds like so they can support teachers without turning the process into a compliance exercise.

Virtual professional learning is available to schools and districts nationwide. Select in-person support is available in Mississippi.

Strengthen the Curriculum You Already Own.

The sooner teachers develop a shared internalization process, the longer students benefit from clearer, more intentional instruction.

Help your educators move from having high-quality materials to being fully prepared to use them well.
